Ashwini is the Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT) Law Consultant of the Firm. She has assisted on information technology law issues concerning data protection and privacy, validity of electronic contracts, financial technology, digital payments, cryptocurrency, regulation of content on social media, telecommunication law issues concerning licensing for telecommunication services, Internet of Things (IoT) regulation, broadcasting laws, VoIP unblocking, encryption, internet service provider regulation, etc.

She is a Research Fellow at LIRNEasia a tech policy think tank founded in Sri Lanka. She is on the Responsible AI sub-committee appointed by the Presidential Secretariat to draft a National AI Strategy for Sri Lanka (2024) and was previously on the advisory law reform committee appointed by the Ministry of Justice for privacy and media law (2021).
